Statement Despite
early aspirations for an art career, practicality prevailed leading to an
extended and fulfilling career as an Electrical Engineer. In the late seventies
during a trip to Europe my early aspirations
resurfaced; I
picked up the
paintbrushes and haven’t stopped since. After taking art courses in most of
the painting techniques, I was fortunate to be mentored by accomplished artist
Lenard Kester in his West Los Angeles studio. He gave me training in the
traditional classical painting technique, over a period of two years. Inspired
by the turn of the century California Impressionists I strive to capture the
beauty, depth and energy of the land and sea of the Northwest. I am most
interested in capturing the quality of light as it defines a landscape, a still
life, botanical subject or portrait. You will find my work is as diverse as
human nature itself aiming to capture a celebration of life in all its wonderful
shades. Represented
